Shiretoko-Touge Pass

Shiretoko-Touge pass is one of the best touring routes in Japan, as well as Yamanami Highway in Mt. Aso region.

It is located at the east side of Hokkaido, and climbs up a winding road with large-scale landscape of Mt. Rausu.

It has an open-air hot spring, called Kumano-Yu in front of camping ground above Rausu town.

After crossing the pass, you might want to visit Kamuiwakka hot waterfall, where water temperature is warm around 30degC.

Note: There are brown bears in Shiretoko Peninsula. It is better to take usual care.
